East Carolina Youth Council

The Diocese of East Carolina Youth Council serves as the visioning, planning, and development team for youth ministry programs and resources. This Council, the ECYC, is primarily made up of young people from across the diocese supported by adults invested in ministry with and for young people.
The hope of the ECYC is to be a representative body of the Diocese of East Carolina. Typically, but not always, there are two representatives from each of the Diocese’s five Deaneries and three at-large representatives, totaling thirteen positions.
Every year as the current ECYC members evaluate applications for the upcoming term, they take into account current and continuing membership, skills and gifts the council may be lacking, and parish representation. With the exception of the applicants deanery, applications are reviewed anonymously.
For questions regarding ECYC applications please contact Emily Gowdy Canady, Missioner for Lifelong Christian Formation in the Diocese of East Carolina.
