DOK Quiet Day: “Not Counting Women and Children”
March 15 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
We will delve into two stories from Holy Scripture that are neglected, yet tell us much about our God, and our relationship with God. And that tell much about how women figure in the story of salvation, then and now. We will draw on Megan McKenna’s book of the same name.
The Rev. Margaret Pollock will lead as we explore — through reading aloud, meditation and self-reflection, and sharing in small groups — an expanded understanding of women in the Exodus story, and in Matthew’s recounting of the feeding of the five thousand. Meaning-making in our own times will be the hope, as these narratives shine a light through the ages. The day will end with a celebration of Holy Eucharist.
SATURDAY, MARCH 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Light Breakfast & Lunch is included
