Trinity Center Leadership Update
Beloved of East Carolina:
On July 14, 2026 at the Trinity Center Board of Managers meeting, Executive Director John Koch announced his intention to retire at the beginning of 2027. Under John’s leadership, we rebuilt after the pandemic, constructed a new, safe, and beautiful bungalow where Sound to Sea staff can live, and established a small but mighty endowment for the future of Trinity Center. John’s work will be remembered for many things, and chief among them is shining a light on the challenges Trinity Center faces. The health and future of Trinity Center demands that we understand both our strengths and our struggles. We owe John a debt of gratitude for his good work.
The Board of Managers hopes to have a new Executive Director in place soon after John retires. We are beginning that work.
Additionally, we are doing work to make sure the financial and organizational health of Trinity Center is strong and able to meet the needs of a changing world and to keep Trinity Center healthy and viable for the future.
In all of this work, we will keep you informed of what’s happening.
I have often described Trinity Camp and Conference Center as being one of the heartbeats of the Diocese. It is my intention, and the intention of the Board of Managers, to keep this holy and joyful place one that is healthy, vibrant and sustainable for generations to come. I am eager for the work before us.
Peace & all good,
Bishop Fisher
