Sunday, December 11, 2022, 7:00 PM
Who: The Rev. Lindsay Freeman
What: The Trilogy of Women around Jesus' Birth: Mary, Elizabeth and Anna
When: Sunday, December 11, 2022 @ 7 p.m.
Coming through the Episcopal Shoppe's Speaker Series at St. John's, Fayetteville, join The Rev. Lindsay Hardin Freeman on Zoom for a new glimpse into the women who sheltered, cared for, and blessed the infant Jesus. Learn about Mary and her three-month stay with Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, and find yourself at the temple in Jerusalem, rejoicing with 104-year old Elizabeth, who had prayed and waited for over many decades for the Messiah to appear. These women, our spiritual grandmothers, have much to share with us as we await the celebration of Jesus' birth. Lindsay Freeman is the author of Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter. A bestseller and a book that made worldwide news in its initial publication, Bible Women is scheduled for a new and expanded release on February 1, 2023. In addition to the original documentation of all the women in the Bible whose words are recorded, the new version adds 93 prayers (one for every woman who spoke) from a variety of classical scholars, theologians, and contemporary clergy as well as providing expansive new discussion questions.
