Farewell to the Skirvings | May 16, 2026 at Trinity Center

To celebrate Bishop Skirving’s tenure as Eighth Bishop of East Carolina, we’re having a get together at Trinity Center!

Everyone is invited to Trinity Center for a thoroughly East Carolina event: foodtrucks, the Crystal Coast, and a time to share stories and hang out! If you’d like to attend, please RSVP by emailing the Bishop Transition Committee by May 1.

In addition to the Trinity Center get together, the Bishop Transition Committee is gathering some other gits for the Skirvings! The first is a general fund towards the Skirvings’ upcoming pilgrimage to the Isle of Iona. And the second is a collection of videos for a digital card for the Skirvings. To learn more about both, visit our website!

Ordination of the Ninth Bishop of East Carolina | May 23, 2026 at Riverfront Convention Center, New Bern

Save the date! The Ordination of our Ninth Bishop of East Carolina will be on May 23, 2026 at 10am. The Ordination will be held at the Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern, NC.

The Bishop Transition Committee is collecting funds to go towards Bishop-Elect Sarah Fisher’s Gifts of Office. These include her vestments, which will all be handmade. To learn more about what we’re having made and how to donate, visit our website!

There’s also still time to volunteer for the Ordination! The Transition Committee is looking for folks to volunteer as parking attendants, acolytes, vergers, ushers, and other roles! Click here to see the form and volunteer.

New Beginnings 59 | April 17-19, 2026 at Trinity Center

New Beginnings is a weekend event designed especially to respond to the unique challenges and concerns of young people in grades 6-8. It was created by adults and young people to help participants grow in their love of themselves, others and for Jesus Christ.

During the weekend, participants meet peers from across the diocese, enjoy skits, listen to talks, and participate in small group activities and discussions. These activities focus on self, friends, parents, siblings, school, God’s love, prayer, and the church. Free time is built in for young people and adult youth leaders to have an opportunity to fellowship with their newfound friends.

Click here to register and learn more.
