Everything Gets Bigger

The Gospel shows us, in real time, Jesus expanding the work he has come to do. A mother’s desperate plea meets the Word made flesh discovering the beauty and brokenness of earth. When earth and heaven meet, when prayer and Jesus collide, when humanity and Savior connect, everything gets bigger.

The world’s economy tells us there is not enough, that we must pick our side and stake our claim. Jesus and the Canaanite woman show us another way: to connect with the outsider; to cry to God with our deepest need; to insist on being heard, to hope in the compassion of our God, trusting that we shall never hope in vain.
