Mark your calendars for Open House, Open Hearts: Extending God’s Welcome in East Carolina, an Episcopal revival festival with Presiding Bishop Curry: October 21, 2023!

Open House, Open Hearts will be a family-friendly, rain-or-shine festival of fun and worship that promises to be an event you won’t want to miss! Visit our revival webpages in English or in Spanish to learn more.

Open House, Open Hearts will have activities and opportunities galore for individuals and for the whole family like:

  • Headlining musical acts, speakers, and preachers, like Jenny & Tyler, Termaine Hicks, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, and Holy Heat, who will share song, stories, and faith to stir our hearts
  • An interactive ministry fair, where Episcopal and ecumenical ministry groups from across eastern North Carolina and beyond will be present and ready to welcome you to their booths
  • An outreach sharing pavilion, where attendees who are curious about the Episcopal Church or the Christian faith, as well as cradle Episcopalians, can discover how the Holy Spirit is active in churches across Eastern North Carolina
  • A quiet retreat tent with no agenda: just a quiet and comfy place to take a break, chat with (new) friends, catch up on some knitting, or just breathe
  • A youth and families tent where you will be opening your hearts in prayer, exploring 5 types of prayer in experiential ways through interactive stations
  • Food and fun for everyone, with food trucks, kids’ obstacle course, a playground, and more on property with ready access
  • A revival worship service that will open our hearts and give us all an worship experience to remember and feed our faith, as well as opportunities to worship and pray throughout the day

We also invite your prayers for this time of revival, and our revival prayer team shares this prayer:

Holy and amazing God, we ask you to open the hearts and minds of the people of East Carolina to what your Holy Spirit is preparing for us. Remind us of your presence in our everyday life so that we can see your hand at work in the world around us. Strengthen the leaders of our upcoming Revival and show them the path you are laying out. Help us let go of the things that distract us from your purpose, and show us where our focus should be. Sustain our energies before, during, and after this Revival so that we may be the agents of transformation you have called us to be. Empower us to engage our neighbors so we can share the loving, liberating, life-giving Good News of Jesus. In his holy name we pray. Amen.
Thank you for your prayers as we prepare for this major event in our diocese (and prayers for Bishop Curry’s health and good weather are appreciated too), and stay tuned for more details!
