FAQs

Below are some of the most common questions asked by conference groups. If you have questions that aren't addressed, please contact us!

How far in advance can a group schedule events?

When contracting with the conference center for a group event, groups may book up to two calendar years in advance

Can groups other than Episcopalians use the facility?

Yes! Trinity Center is open to all denominations and non-profits, state agencies, family reunions, schools, artists and craft guilds, etc. All are welcome here.

Rates are not posted on the website. How can I find out the current rates?

Your group’s leader must call Trinity Center to inquire about rates. Ask for the Group Coordinator.

What is the closest airport?

EWN in New Bern and OAJ in Jacksonville, North Carolina, are the closest regional airports, both roughly one hour from Trinity Center. RDU in Raleigh is the closest large airport and is a hub for American Airlines.

Does Trinity Center have internet/WiFi?

Yes. Each meeting space, living room and Pelican House has a designated WiFi (no password needed). WiFi is not guaranteed in lodging.

Does Trinity Center provide linens?

Yes, for adult groups we provide bed linens and bath towels and a bar of soap. (We do not have daily maid service.) Groups paying youth group rates should bring their own linens. Everyone should bring a beach towel.

Can we choose our own menu?

If your group has exclusive use of the center and/or is the only group on site, then yes, you may choose your menu. If we have multiple groups on site, then the food service director will set the menu based on the needs of all groups to accommodate the broadest range of people. Guests with severe food allergies and dietary needs will be accommodated; advance notice is greatly appreciated.

Does Trinity Center host weddings?

By the policy of our diocesan bishop Trinity Center hosts only Episcopal weddings celebrated by an authorized Episcopal priest.

Does Trinity Center provide lifeguards?

No! Swim at your own risk. Swim with a buddy. Youth groups must provide adult supervision during all water activities at the pool, in the sound or at the beach. (Camp Trinity and Sound to Sea Summer Day Camp provide lifeguards for their program campers only.)

What are the local attractions?

The North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores, Fort Macon State Park, Hammocks Beach State Park, 18 Hole Golf Course at Country Club of the Crystal Coast, Professor Hacker’s Fun Park and Mini-Golf Course, Atlantic Beach Cinema, Deep Sea Fishing, Jet Ski Rentals, SCUBA Diving Charters, etc.

Can an individual come to Trinity Center on their own or must they be part of a group?

Trinity Center’s main business is to provide facilities for group retreats; however, we make exceptions for individuals who are members of the Diocese of East Carolina or who have been to Trinity Center in the past with a group to return to Trinity Center on an individual basis. Individual reservations may only be made within two weeks of the desired date. Special rates apply.
