Together we will explore love\, joy\, peace\, patience\, kindness\, generosity\, faithfulness\, gentleness\, and self-control\, reflecting on how each of these can deepen our faith and guide our daily interactions with those around us.\n\nWe invite you to come as you are! Whether you are new to taking a class during this holy season or are looking to observe Lent a little differently\, “Guided By The Spirit” seeks to be a welcoming space for all to connect\, learn\, and grow with others from around the diocese. Classes are led by clergy and lay members from around the Diocese of East Carolina.\n\nEach week we will explore a new book. You do not need to read or prepare anything ahead of time. Registration for our first retreat is now open! Join us at Camp Rockfish (Parkton\, NC) on March 12- 13 to engage with pressing questions and explore solutions that go beyond the surface of hunger. \n\n\nWho Should Attend?\nThis retreat is designed for clergy and laity who are engaged in food ministry work. DESCRIPTION:We will delve into two stories from Holy Scripture that are neglected\, yet tell us much about our God\, and our relationship with God. And that tell much about how women figure in the story of salvation\, then and now. We will draw on Megan McKenna’s book of the same name. \n The Rev. Margaret Pollock will lead as we explore — through reading aloud\, meditation and self-reflection\, and sharing in small groups — an expanded understanding of women in the Exodus story\, and in Matthew’s recounting of the feeding of the five thousand. Meaning-making in our own times will be the hope\, as these narratives shine a light through the ages.
