SUMMARY:Mediation Skills Training Institute for Church Leaders
DESCRIPTION:Conflict is normal and inevitable – whether in the home\, school\, community\, church or workplace. Leaders in all walks of life often have a responsibility to help others work through their conflicts. The Mediation Skills Training Institute presented by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (LMPC) is designed to equip church leaders with the skills necessary to deal effectively with interpersonal\, congregational\, and other forms of group conflict. The five-day institute also includes a component on congregational mediation and consultation\, placed within the context of family systems theory. Although focused primarily on the church setting\, the skills learned are directly transferable to other settings. Thus\, managers in business\, attorneys\, experienced mediators\, and others in leadership will be enriched by the training as well. Visit the website for more information here. See the brochure for information and to register via mail here.

SUMMARY:Pastoral Care for Climate: Merging Science and Theology for Justice
DESCRIPTION:Creation Justice Ministries is offering a three-day training on Pastoral Care for Climate: Merging Science and Theology for Justice\, June 13-15 at Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort\, NC. Pastors and other church leaders are unique in bringing together social\, emotional and spiritual roles in the face of the climate change crisis. The training helps empower pastors and other leaders to effectively engage science\, broaden climate action in a congregation or ministry setting\, and move people from denial and inaction to congregational action and political advocacy. This in-person retreat is a transformational experience that aims to weave together scientific\, theological\, and ministry approaches to climate change. The workshop goal is to increase opportunities to connect pastors and scientists around climate change. All Christian leaders (clergy and lay) are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to those in the coastal areas of the Southeast U.S. who submit applications by April 30. Learn more here about the June 2022 workshop “Pastoral Care for Climate: Weaving Science and Theology for Justice.”
