DESCRIPTION:“Women in Mission” is the theme of the online Global Mission Conference\, May 12-14\, 2022   Registration is ongoing for the 2022 Global Mission Conference that will be held May 12-14 online on the theme of Women in Mission. Sign up now to join with people around the world to celebrate and reflect on the vital role of women’s participation in God’s mission.   Sponsored by the Global Episcopal Mission Network\, the conference will meet for 3 hours via Zoom on each of the 3 days\, 1-4 p.m. Eastern Time. Spanish-language translation will be available. The conference is free and open to the public\, and donations are encouraged via PayPal on the GEMN donation page. Attendees will receive the Zoom connection information upon registration. Workshops will feature the mission work of women in Mozambique\, Pakistan\, Costa Rica\, Dominican Republic\, Cuba\, Colombia\, India and Korea. DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for Saturday\, May 14. Join Jonathan Graves and Carolina Villa to reflect on the inspirational and insightful poetry by Mary Oliver. Learn about Mary and her love of God and nature\, and what her poetry may tell us about our own human nature. We will start at 8:30 a.m. in our gathering area at Holy Cross with a light breakfast and beverage. At 9:00 in our sanctuary we will open with prayer and a warm up exercise. Also in the last 30 minutes of our time together we invite any poets among us to share a poem of their own. We hope to conclude at noon. SUMMARY:Creation Care Bible Study at Grace Church\, Whiteville
DESCRIPTION:Grace Church\, Whiteville is offering a June Bible study focused on Creation Care that will meet each Wednesday at noon. All are welcome\, though you are asked to register for the study by May 25th.  Climate change is a spiritual as well as a scientific issue.  What can and should Christians do to mitigate its effects? Learn all about it in the upcoming Bible study and workshop\, “Caring for God’s Creation.”  Together we will study:   What the scripture tells us about caring for our natural resources.  What the current health is of our planet  How climate change is impacting our weather\, food supply\, air and water quality.  How the environmental and health consequences of climate change impact low-income countries and poor people disproportionally to others  Discover possible solutions and simple steps Christians can take to sustain our planet  Plus\, we’ll have fun with hands-on activities\, guest speakers and field trips  When: Each Wednesday in June\, starting on June 1st at 12 noon Where: Grace Church Fellowship Hall\, located at 105 S. DESCRIPTION:The St. Francis by the Sea Concert Series continues on Friday\, May 27th with the Carteret Community Sunshine Band\, directed by Jason Robison. The concert begins at 7 pm in the sanctuary of St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church\, located in Salter Path. The concert is open and free to the public as everyone celebrates the beginning of the Memorial Day long weekend.     This concert is special for the Sunshine Band because it will be the first concert performed in over two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The concert will feature patriotic music\, Broadway and movie music\, sacred and secular music that everyone will recognize.     All are welcomed!
