Call for Nominations to the Search Committee

The Standing Committee has been working diligently to plan for the necessary steps our diocese must make together in calling our next bishop. In their first meeting with our search consultant, Dr. Blanca G. Silvestrini, they discussed the whole process from beginning to end. The process of calling and electing a bishop is one that will require many in our diocese to perform “tasks which demand our best efforts (BCP 836).” Our work has begun in earnest, and it is now time for the Standing Committee to develop a robust and comprehensive Search Committee. To do this, we are seeking nominations from the good and faithful people of our diocese. It is our intent to create a Search Committee that represents the rich diversity of our diocese. We aim to balance the committee with respect to age, gender, geographic area, ethnicity, church size, etc. All nominations were due no later than January 6, 2025. Those selected must be available for a Search Committee Retreat to be held Saturday, February 1 at St. Mary’s in Kinston, NC.
