127th Diocesan Convention of the Diocese of East Carolina

The Rev'd Bert Eaton and the people of the Trinity Deanery look forward to welcoming you to the 127th Annual Convention of the Diocese of East Carolina. The Episcopal Churches of the Trinity Deanery pray that our annual gathering will provide the kind of care and support needed by all of us as we seek to discern God's will for our future ministry together.
Our Convention will be held at the Convention Center in New Bern on February 4-6, 2010, with the opening Eucharist at historic Christ Church on Thursday. The Anti-Racism Commission has invited Ms. Katrina Browne to be a guest of Convention and you will have the opportunity to see “Traces of the Trade” on Friday. On Friday evening, we will have a Service of Reconciliation at Christ Church.
The Millennium Development Goals Committee asks that each attendee participate in the "Soles 4 Souls" program during convention. Once you register for convention you will be emailed specific information on this.

CERTIFICATE OF DELEGATE ELECTION FORMS- Each parish was mailed Certificate of Delegate Election Forms mid-November. If you didn't receive your forms please contact Rondi Sugg, Convention Registrar at rsugg@diocese-eastcarolina.org or 252-522-0885 ext. 228. If you have questions regarding completing the form or other questions, please contact Jimi Paderick at 252-522-0885 ext. 233 or jpaderick@diocese-eastcarolina.org.
REGISTRATION- Convention Registration is now closed. However, you may register at the Registration desk at the Convention.
A limited number of meal tickets are avaliable for lunch and banquet. For more information, please contact Rondi Sugg.
RESOLUTIONS- Find the must up-to-date proposed resolutions and keep track of them as they change throughout convention here. You can also find final versions of adopted resolutions here after convention ends. The deadline for all resolutions is 10:00 AM on the first legislative day of Convention.
CHANGES TO THE CONSTITUTION AND CANONS- Find proposed changes to the Constitutions and Canons here. Keep up during convention with the changes by visiting this site regularly. After convention is over, you will find the adopted changes to the Constitution and Canons here.

NOMINATION INFORMATION- Nominations can only be made by delegates of Convention. We ask that nominations be made in writing prior to December 31. This allows time to collect and publish information that will be helpful for delegates who will vote on these offices. By doing this, we hope this will allow suffcient time for prayerful consideration of the choices prior to your arrival at convention.
Additional nominations for all offices may be made after the publication deadline and from the floor of Convention. However, those nominated after December 31 will not benefit from the publication of their qualifications. YOUTH REPRESENTATIVE INFORMATION- Each Parish is allowed to have one Youth Representative to represent their parish. Youth Representatives have seat and voice only during Convention. This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to learn more about the Body of Convention and the work that it does. To learn more and download forms, click here.
